Employees and associates of fledgling communication technology firm Vision Sound and Light (VSL) Ltd marked the latest stage in the company’s swift ascent, by holding an official opening ceremony conducted by Dundee Lord Provost John Letford this morning (Monday, March 29).
The event took place at the company’s premises at Dundee’s Barlow Park, and was attended by staff and customers, as well as representatives from Scottish Enterprise (SE) Tayside and Business Gateway who have guided the company through their first few months in business. Guests were given a tour of the company’s facility and also treated to demonstrations of some of the dynamic services on offer.
VSL opened at the start of the year, led by Managing Director Gary Langlands, a former sales and marketing executive with McMillan UK. Utilising expert support and guidance from SE Tayside and Business Gateway, Gary and seven of his ex-colleagues joined forces to establish the new venture to provide solutions for Scotland’s audio visual and broadcast market.

This includes such diverse services as, audio visual solutions, IT support and consultancy, video conferencing and web site design.
So far the company have concentrated their efforts on local clients within the Tayside and Grampian areas, but are keen to attract new business from across Scotland. They have already carried out quality installation work for clients including Dundee City Council, Moray College, Stevenson College and Lauder College and this list looks set to grow.
Gary commented: “We made a great start to the year and we’re keen to build on that momentum, and spread awareness of the services which we offer. Our highly experienced team of specialists are committed to delivering quality, bespoke solutions to a broad range of clients.
“The support we’ve received from both SE Tayside and Business Gateway has been essential, as they have helped us build the foundations for what we hope will be a very successful long running venture.”
Shona Cormack, chief executive of Scottish Enterprise Tayside said: “In such a short space of time VSL have already proven themselves to be a premier outfit, offering a range of professional services to meet the communication requires of various companies in Tayside and beyond. We are delighted to have played a part in facilitating their growth from start-up and look forward to seeing them develop and grow into yet another example of a successful and innovative young company which is thriving in Tayside.”
